The Asia Pacific Centre for the Responsibility to Protect invites you to attend a public lecture delivered by Ms Debbie Stothard during her upcoming visit to Australia.

Ms Stothard  is the founder and coordinator of the Alternative ASEAN Network on Burma (ALTSEAN-Burma). She is an active promoter of human rights in Burma/ Myanmar and  within the ASEAN region. She has participated in every step of democracy building in Myanmar, from organising advocacy meetings and campaigns on human rights and these activities have led her to work in collaboration with UN and ASEAN institutions as well as several governments in Asia, North America and Europe. In 2010 she was elected  Deputy Secretary-General of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and in 2013 elected as Secretary-General  during the 38th FIDH Congress.
