Venue
On 23 May 2019, The Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships (DATSIP) announced a Review of the Cultural Heritage Acts. Submissions to the Review are due by 5pm, Friday 26 July 2019.
This event will be a practical forum for discussion of the Review’s Terms of Reference. Key speakers from government, community and industry will introduce the topics and lead general discussion. The Forum will finish with a structured workshop to draft a submission/s. This forum will inform a UQ submission to the Review and seek to support others in individual submissions.
The Forum on the Review of the Cultural Heritage Acts will focus on the scope of the review and what kind of outcome they are having for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and others, and how the operation of the Acts intersect with the Native Title process. The Forum will also be a space where participants can go beyond the scope of the Review and raise other key points for discussion.
If you would like to attend the forum, please contact engagement@hass.uq.edu.au to express your interest.
