China Matters and The University of Queensland are pleased to host the inaugural China Matters Oration, to be delivered by the Honourable Dr Kevin Rudd AC.

The China Matters Oration is an opportunity for a prominent Australian to give their in-depth appraisal on developments in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Australia-China relations.

Dr Rudd, one the world’s leading authorities on China, will discuss the trajectory of the PRC as President Xi Jinping embarks on his third five-year term in office and what this means for Australia and the world.

Mr Peter N Varghese AO, Chancellor of The University of Queensland, will present opening remarks. Ms Linda Jakobson, Founding Director of China Matters, will moderate the Q&A.

Drinks and canapés will follow the oration.
