The University of Queensland School of Music presents the UQ Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Dr Warwick Potter, performing two world premieres. The first, Scientia ac Labore by John Rotar, won the 2017 UQ Composition Competition and is a celebration of the life of the university. The second, Tabula Rasa, is the 2018 Percy Brier Memorial Prize-winning composition by Richard Sanderson.

The UQ Symphony Orchestra will then be joined in a performance of Fauré’s beautiful Requiem by the UQ Chorale and singers from Ambrose Treacy College, Brisbane Boys College, Brisbane State High School, Clayfield College, Canterbury College, Kenmore State High School, Moreton Bay College, St Laurence’s College, and St Peters Lutheran College. The concert will be brought to a thrilling conclusion with a performance of Berlioz’s revolutionary Symphonie Fantastique.
