With The University of Queensland Node of the Centre of Excellence for the History of the Emotions, St John’s Cathedral is hosting an event to celebrate and explore the ways preachers have appealed to the emotions of their listeners across the ages.

After the reading of a sermon by the famous 17th Century preacher and poet John Donne, the day will feature a talk on sermons and emotions by The Reverend Dr Erica Longfellow, Chaplain and Dean of Divinity at New College Oxford and one of the editors of the new Oxford University Press edition of Donne’s complete sermons.
