Learn About Your Degree
Get answers about your degree
Start by checking out the HASS Student Support website and our answers to the top questions asked by new students. Both are great resources for getting your head around your degree requirements and other opportunities within HASS.
HASS Faculty is made up of seven Schools that are responsible for teaching different disciplines. Both the Faculty and Schools have Student Administration teams who can answer your questions, specifically:
- The Faculty deals with queries that are related to your overall degree, e.g. credit for previous study, academic progress, graduation, and approval for overseas study. Contact the Faculty.
- The School deals with queries that are related to your specific courses, like class timetabling and allocations, placements, assessment submissions (including extensions), and School-based exams. Contact your School.
Get support for online learning
In Semester 1, 2021 we'll be teaching on campus and online in three delivery modes: External, Flexible and Internal.
- External courses will deliver all learning online for the whole semester. There will be no in-person attendance required. External courses are available to all students. If you are overseas and you aren’t able to travel to Australia to study, you must select external courses.
- Flexible courses will offer a blend of online and in-person learning activities, in accordance with Government COVID-19 restrictions.
- Internal courses will require regular in-person attendance throughout the semester, in accordance with Government COVID-19 restrictions.
Many HASS courses will be offered in Flexible and External modes this Semester, but you need to check to make sure. Go to UQ Programs and Courses to find information about your courses, including the mode of study, course description, and Electronic Course Profile (or ECP).
This basically means that you will need to get comfortable with online learning. But don’t worry! The UQ Library has a great guide on how to study online.
