Sophie Plunkett

My role within the Student Futures team is to support the integration of employability skills and experiences into the curriculum. I work with staff and students to develop new and existing courses and learning experiences, particularly targeted at professional and transferrable skills. I am driven to improve the student experience through the quality of teaching and learning offered within HASS.
I have a background in Secondary Geography teaching in both the UK and Australia across a range of educational systems. My interests lie in building student capacity and improving experience through authentic assessment, reflective practice, active learning and effective thinking.
If you are a HASS student and you are interested in exploring courses that will help you to build your employability, then check out the following opportunities:
- Professional Pathways Minor; a suite of four courses that can be taken individually as electives
- PHSS2000 Practical Employability Experience; a course that enables you to gain credit for a range of employability related experiences
If you are a HASS staff member who is looking to explore the possibilities of Work-Integrated Learning within your course, or who would like support with learning design, please contact me via email.
