Researcher biography
I’m a researcher and teacher in political science and international relations at UQ, having previously held positions at UNSW, and at Birmingham and Warwick in the UK. I teach Australian Foreign Policy at undergraduate level, and I’m co-editor of Australian Journal of Politics and History. My research includes a focus on Australian climate politics and Australian foreign policy, and aside from publishing on these themes in academic journals, I contribute to public debate on these themes with op eds in outlets like the ABC, The Conversation, the Lowy Interpreter and the Australian Institute of International Affairs. I’m currently working on an ARC funded project on the relationship between climate change and security, and recent work published from this project looks at this relationship in Australia in the context of the bushfire crisis in 2019-20.
