Researcher biography

I graduated from Macquarie University in 2018 with a degree in International Studies, and recently graduated from The University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Studies (Honours I). I am currently a PhD candidate at The University of Queensland, where I am investigating how mixed Japanese youth living in Australia and Japan interpret and experience discourses of multiculturalism. My research is grounded in cultural studies and anthropology, and is guided by the work of Wise and colleagues in their work on everyday multiculturalism. I am also interested in texts that critically engage Australian and Asian-Australian identities.
