Researcher biography
Inspired by a deep interest in Australia’s global connections and the culture of design, my research focuses on the exchange of ideas in modern and contemporary architecture spanning Europe, North America and the global periphery. Through archival study I discover networks – personal, professional and institutional as well those created through media – that explain the migration of architecture and urban design concepts to Australia and its region. I am an expert on the renowned Modernist architect Le Corbusier and my latest book, Le Corbusier in the Antipodes: Art, Architecture and Urbanism (2021) is a first ever account of his impact in Australia and New Zealand.
