We have recently completed a review of the Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) and have made some minor changes to this program for students commencing in Semester 1, 2021.

When viewing the 2020 BJ course list on the Programs and Courses website, you can change which year you are viewing using the dropdown box near the top right of the list to compare the 2021 BJ with the pre-2021 program.

The changes we have made to this program will affect students commencing in Semester 1, 2021

As a continuing student, you will be able to complete your current program and there will be no substantive change to your program requirements.

2. What does this mean for continuing students?

Please be assured that if you are a continuing student enrolled in the BJ program, you will be able to complete with the program structure and rules that were in place when you commenced.

Only one course, JOUR2100 Social Justice Storytelling has been revised and will now be offered as JOUR3100 Social Justice Storytelling.

You will also be able to choose the new Digital Media minor as part of your elective choice if this is your preference.

If you are thinking of changing to the 2021 BCommun/BJ dual program (program code 2508), BJ/BA dual program (program code 2102), BBusMan/BJ dual program (program code 2510), BJ/LLB(Hons) dual program (program code 2512), BSc/BJ dual program (program code 2496) please read sections 3 and 4 carefully.
