An Oxford welcome

Oxford University welcomed Professor Peter Harrison back earlier this month for his 2019 Bampton Lecture.

These prestigious lectures began in 1780 after John Bampton, a member of Trinity College, Oxford, directed in his will that eight lectures be delivered annually at Oxford in the University Church.

Peter spoke to his research on the relationship between science and religion.

Before coming to UQ Professor Harrison was the Idreos Professor of Science and Religion and Director of the Ian Ramsey Centre at the University of Oxford.

Peter is an Australian Laureate Fellow and Director of the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities.
