Digital Traces as Method
27 March 2025 12:00pm–2:00pm
In this workshop run by The Centre for Digital Cultures and Societies we take participants through a range of data collection strategies that focus on different digital traces (such as screenshots, posts, or images etc.) and how these strategies could be integrated into other kinds of digital methods such as scroll-back, search for, or screenshotting. We will present an overview of what these methods can look like in practice, followed by an open discussion on possible ethical, practical, and technical considerations for integrating these strategies into your own research.
Facilitators:
Lauren Hayden, Giselle Newton, Nic Carah, and Dan Tran
