The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS) at UQ produces nationally and internationally respected research across its many and varied disciplines. In addition to strong performance with external funding, UQ researchers in humanities and social sciences have won prizes, gained reputations for research excellence, performed exceptionally in the Excellence for Research in Australia (ERA) exercise and in global university rankings, among many other measures.

The Faculty is funding three strategic cross-disciplinary research projects with the aim of developing our viable, long term research strengths:

Translational research in creative practice

Visual Politics

Young people, communities and education working together

The Faculty also hosts one current and one recently completed ARC Laureate, three ARC Future Fellows and 11 DECRAs.

Currently 19 faculty-led ARC Discovery Projects are operational and 5 ARC Linkage Projects with co-CI on others led within UQ and beyond.
