Congratulations to Professor Kristen Lyons from UQ's School of Social Science who will be taking up a Fellowship at the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism at McGill University, Montreal.
In 2019 Professor Lyons was awarded an O'Brien Fellowship, however was unable to travel due to COVID-19.
After nearly 3 years, she is now able to travel to take up this opportunity as an O'Brien Fellow in Residence from September to November 2023.
The program provides an opportunity for human rights scholars and professionals to contribute to the Centre and enrich its intellectual life, while at the same time providing an opportunity for professional development.
This fellowship will enable Professor Lyons to pursue her research into global carbon markets, extractivism, human and Indigenous rights obligations and impacts.
