Associate Professor Chelsea Bond from UQ’s School of Social Science said racial violence within the Australian health system is at the heart of continued health inequities and outlines new health justice framework in an article released today via The Medical Journal of Australia.
Co-authored by Lisa J Whop, David Singh and Helena Kajlich, the paper highlights that the statistical story of Indigenous health and death, despite how stark, fails to do justice to the violence of racialised health inequities that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples continue to experience.
