Associate Professor in Creative Industries, School of Creative Industries, University of the Sunshine Coast

Dr Sandy O’Sullivan is a Wiradjuri transgender/non-binary person. An Associate Professor in Creative Industries at the University of the Sunshine Coast, they work across creativities, performance, gender and queer studies, museum studies framed within identity and representation.  Sandy recently received a Future Fellowship to work on a research program titled Saving Lives: Mapping the influence of Indigenous LGBTIQ+ creative artists.  

Sandy’s work as Director of Batchelor Institute’s Centre for Collaborative First Nations’ Research included the management of ERA reporting and as overall liaison with the ARC. From this role and in their position as an Australian Learning and Teaching Fellow, Sandy ran a series of workshops for HDR students on research dissemination and the national coding of research, delivered in workshop form to 16 Australian universities.
