Congratulations to Head of UQ's School of Education Professor Tisha Morrell, who made the Courier Mail's '50 most influential in Queensland education power list.'
Listed alongside UQ Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Deborah Terry AO and Chancellor Peter Varghese AO, Professor Morrell's research focuses on best practices for science teacher preparation, with an emphasis on professional development, but she is also involved in curriculum development.
Professor Morrell has taught in a large private school in New York and spent more than 20 years working with preservice and in-service teachers at the University of Portland, where she also created and directed its STEM Education and Outreach Centre.
She now works where next-gen teachers are hand-picked by the state's top schools, The University of Queensland, who came in at equal third (with Deakin and after Melbourne and Monash) as the best university in Australia for education degrees in 2022, acording to the Times Higher Education World University Ranking.
