One of Australia’s leading musicians and educators will join The University of Queensland as the Kinnane Professor of Music early next year.

University of Queensland researchers have secured more than $7.2 million through the Australian Research Council Discovery Early Career Researcher Award (DECRA) program to strengthen national research and innovation capacity.

The UQ community is remembering the achievements of activist, academic and author, Adjunct Associate Professor Merle Thornton AM. Dr Thornton died peacefully on Friday 16 August, aged 93.
