A UQ alumnus has been named one of our nations top educators.
Michael Smith of Marsden State High School was one of 12 inspiring teachers recognised as a 2019 Teaching Fellow in the recent Commonwealth Bank Teaching Awards.
As one of Australia’s most prestigious prizes for educators, Michael was chosen from a pool of over 3,500 applicants to receive a prize valued at $45,000.
He graduated from a Bachelor of Education at The University of Queensland in 2001.
