Resistance and resilience: In conversation with Her Excellency Daw Zin Mar Aung

Her Excellency Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Unity Government (NUG) of Myanmar will be joined by Mr Peter Varghese AO, Chancellor, The University of Queensland, for a thought-provoking discussion around the challenges faced by Myanmar’s opposition government in its efforts to promote democracy, protect human rights and address humanitarian crises.

The conversation will explore avenues for international cooperation, including diplomatic relations, humanitarian aid and advocacy. 

All are welcome.

Her Excellency Daw Zin Mar Aung, Union Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Unity Government (NUG) of Myanmar
H.E. Zin Mar Aung spent 11 years in both Insein Prison and Mandalay Prison. In 2015, she was elected as a Parliamentary Member of the House of People’s Representatives from Yankin Township. She was a member of the Social Affairs Committee of the House of People’s Representatives and a member of the Public Accounts Committee of the Assembly of the Union. In 2020 she was re-elected in the general elections. Currently, she is a Member of the Committee Representing Pyidaung Hluttaw (CRPH) and Union Foreign Minister of the National Unity Government (NUG).
