Meet our panel

Anna Jenman, NAATI Certified Legal Translator - French & Spanish into English
Anna Jenman is a NAATI Certified Translator of French and Spanish into English and an Associate of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Linguists.  Originally from the UK, she has operated Anna Jenman Translation Services in Australia since 2013, and is the former Secretary of AUSIT Queensland.

Anna holds a degree in Law with French Law and French Language and specialises in legal translation and business communications. Her background includes working at two UK law firms, in the areas of commercial property and clinical negligence, before settling in Australia and becoming NAATI certified.  Anna has been a translation project manager at the University of Queensland’s Institute of Modern Languages, which gave her a good insight into the agency side of the T&I industry, and more recently, an industry consultant and project manager at AcudocX, a new tech startup in the translation sphere, alongside running her translation business.

 

Ahmed Almassri, Certified Translator (Arabic to English & vice versa) and Editor
Based in Doha, Ahmed has a graduate certificate in Translation Studies and 7 years experience as a freelancer in translation, proofreading and editing for various clients, publishing houses and other businesses, including Canadian-based Scribendi Inc.

Ahmed also has a Masters in International Relations from UQ and BA in English Language and Literature. Over his international career, he has worked as a translator/editor in Palestine, Qatar, Sweden, UK, US, Jordan. 

 

 
Yuki Sayeg, Lecturer and MAJIT Interpreting Coordinator, School of Languages and Cultures
With over 25 years’ experience as a freelance conference interpreter, Yuki is a NAATI Certified Conference Interpreter (English<>Japanese) and Certified Advanced Translator (Japanese to English). She is also a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC).

Yuki began studying Japanese as an undergraduate student at UQ before going on to study T&I in the forerunner of the MAJIT program. She has combined teaching T&I in the MAJIT program with freelance interpreting, working at international meetings and conferences throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. She is actively involved with NAATI and was part of the working group which designed the NAATI certification system introduced in 2018.
