Preparing for graduation

Graduation is an exciting and busy time, and to ensure that the process is as smooth as possible we have developed a few steps to assist you with preparing for graduation. We recommend that you complete the following steps, and review the information on the UQ Graduations website.

1. Five Steps for Graduation

  1. Complete a Progression Check.
  2. Ensure that your graduation semester is set correctly in SI-net. You can do this by logging into mySI-net, selecting the ‘program’ tab along the top, then ‘graduation semester’ from the left-hand menu.
  3. Ensure that any major(s)/extended major/minor(s) are declared correctly in SI-net. You can do this by logging into mySI-net, selecting the ‘program’ tab along the top, then ‘plans’ from the left-hand menu. If you have difficulty declaring your major/minor or it is not displaying as an option please send details of the issue to hass@uq.edu.au. Make sure you include your 8 digit student number.
  4. Ensure that you regularly check your UQ student email address. This is where all graduation correspondence will be sent.
  5. Review the information on the UQ Graduations website regarding ceremony dates, tickets, academic dress hire.
